InSupport

The InSupport “Enhancing interagency support for victims of sexual violence” project aims to contribute to improving the protection and support for victims and survivors of sexual violence in Greece.

The InSupport project is co-funded by the European Union within the framework of the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV, project number 101195372). It started in March 2025 and will end in February 2027.

Objectives

  1. Enhance interagency cooperation on supporting victims of sexual violence, through the establishment of an interagency response mechanism.
  1. Enhance victim response and support procedures of law-enforcement and frontline services, through the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  1. Strengthen the skills of (at least 1.320) law-enforcement and frontline professionals on sexual violence/rape issues and gender-sensitive victim support, through capacity building.
  1. Raise the awareness and access to information of women victims of sexual violence/rape about their rights and the support that is available (incl. victims exposed to intersectional discrimination), through the creation of an info mobile application.

Target groups

Law-enforcement professionals, health professionals and psychosocial support professionals.

State authorities, bodies and policy makers (law enforcement, health, citizen protection, gender equality and human rights justice etc.) related to victim protection and support.

CSOs and/or other organizations/institutions etc. that work in the fields of sexual violence-GBV victim protection/support, gender equality and human rights.

The wider public, and especially women (victims of sexual violence).

Main project activities

  1. Establishment of interagency cooperation/response mechanism among stakeholders to enhance the protection and support provided to victims of sexual violence.
  1. Development of Protocols/Set of gender-sensitive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for law-enforcement and healthcare services, in order to improve the victim response and support procedures.
  1. Development of Guidelines for setting up rape / sexual violence referral structures for providing holistic and comprehensive support to victims of sexual violence.
  1. Development of capacity building curricula for law-enforcement and frontline professionals to strengthen their skills on sexual violence/rape issues and gender-sensitive victim support.
  1. Implementation of capacity building and development of e-learning platform with the curricula.
  1. Creation of information mobile application to enable victims of sexual violence to have easy access to information about their rights and the support services available to them across the country.
  1. Online awareness-raising campaign to raise the awareness of women (victims of sexual violence/rape) about their rights and the available support services in the country.
